The Dropped Shop Restoration Studio Inc was founded in 1976.

   Since then, the studio, now located in Orchard Park, NY, has continuously provided the area  with professional china, pottery, porcelain, glass and gold leaf restoration services.
   
   The Dropped Shop provides expert restoration services to museums, antique dealers, department stores, churches and mosques, and private collectors.
    
   Over the last 28 years, Ernie has restored major collections for:

• The Buffalo Museum of Science,
• The Charles F Binns Collection at Alfred State University,
• The Mount Morris Historical Society,
  as well as other small private and county museums.

   In order to keep informed on the latest restoration techniques and materials, Ernie regularly attends and demonstrates for national and international conferences on restoration.

   As a member, he lectures and instructs for The Association of Restorers, an international organization dedicated to fostering the art and professionalism of all types of restoring.

   He also belongs to The Society of Gilders and has published articles on gilding techniques that he developed for gilding on restored porcelains.
